Ancona is so much more than the “port of Italy”. Visit the cathedral of St. Ciriaco which was built in the 12th century and is the symbol of Ancona.
Lazzaretto, located at the port of Ancona, is a pentagonal building used today as an important cultural center for exhibitions and cultural events. An equally important monument is the Homer State Museum, the only museum in Europe for the blind.
The museum contains numerous plaster casts from the most famous sculptures of history, Egyptian models and Greek masterpieces.
